Ross Lamont Valory was born February 2, 1949 in San Francisco
The first established band that Ross performed in is the "great lost psychedelic band" known as Frumious Bandersnatch.
In 1971 Ross appeared with the Steve Miller Blues Band on the album Rock Love.
During 1972 Ross, Neal Schon, Prarie Prince, Greg Rollie, and George Tickner along with manager Herbie Herbert formed the Golden Gate Rhythm Section, which quickly evolved into the band we know as Journey.
During 1988 Ross toured with Michael Bolton along with Jonathan Cain on Michael Bolton's first tour.
The Vu was formed by Ross Valory and Co-producer Stephen Jarvis and included former Journey musician Prarier Prince along with Kevin Chalfant, Tim Gorman and Stef Burns. The Vu performed and recorded during the years1986-1990.
During the early 90's Ross, along with Kevin Chalfant, Greg Rollie, and Steve Smith formed The Storm and recorded two albums, The Storm and Eye of the Storm.
In 1994 Ross performed on the two Sy Klopps Blues Band albums.
In 1996, Ross rejoined Journey and they recorded the Trial By Fire album.
Abraxas Pool records an album that features Ross along with Greg Rollie, Neal Schon, and others.
Ross, Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon reform Journey with Steve Augeri and Deen Castronovo in 1998.
Ross continues to tour with Journey as well as work on other projects that include VTR, No Nation, and a host of others.
